06.11.14 Hillsong United Welcome Zion in Manila

Oh yes! As expected, an amazing worship night led by Hillsong United tonight at SMART Araneta Coliseum. The experience brought me back to their June 2011 concert... I actually went alone that time but I enjoyed it so much because of God's joy! [See related post here.]

I'm really blessed to be part of this concert again and to bring some of my churchmates with me. Such an unforgettable night of our lives plus this was their first time to attend a big concert! Yes, we got good seats but we never sat again since they played the first song up to the finale hehe!

All glory to God for placing us tonight in His great dance floor!

Also, great concert lighting design! I can't help myself but appreciate every movement of lights!
God's art indeed! :D
The concert started past 8PM. And here's tonight's setlist for Welcome Zion Asia - Manila, June 11 2014.

1. Relentless
2. Go (Yes, at last, got to witness JD on megaphone hehe!)
3. Break Free
4. Hosanna
5. From the Inside Out
6. Scandal of Grace

7. Stay and Wait
8. Love is War
(One of the songs I love the most from their Zion album... and I actually cried while singing this a while ago. The Lord spoke to me through the lyrics as if the words were my prayer and made me remember His sacrifice for me, thank You Jesus!)
9. Aftermath
10. Freedom is Here
11. Shout Unto God
12. Mighty to Save
(Tonight, most cellphones were twinkling like stars, we also did this at Youth Factor 7)

13. All I Need Is You
14. Nothing Like Your Love

And then JD led the acceptance prayer. He also mentioned Romans 10:9: If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Indeed a very beautiful moment when thousands of people surrendered their lives to Jesus and accepted Him as their Lord and Savior. And because of this, surely there was rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God. We were all sinners, we need Jesus who is mighty to save.

15. Oceans (of course, Taya Smith's voice and how she sang it-- really astounding)
16. The Stand
and the lights were off with...
17. With Everything

After that, they left the stage and the crowd continued to sing "Whoah...oh... Looord.. oh.."
and of course, Hillsong United members were back and JD led...
18. Your Name High
then Taya sang..
19. Wake [from Young&Free album]
then they performed...
20. Alive [also from Young&Free album]
and the finale... tada!!!
21. One Way (we just couldn't finish the night without shouting Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life, we live by FAITH and not by sight... we're living all for You, Jesus!)

**If some correction with the setlist should be made, of course -- you may leave a comment anytime! ^_^

Some words by Joel Houston:

I'm not lying when we tell that Philippines is our favorite.
(Don't worry brother, I believe in you. It's shown by giving us the 2-night concert this week.)

And you are God's favorite as well.
(Thanks God He is full of love. He loves every nation that obey Him and bring glory to His Name.)

We can't change you, we can't save you. Only Jesus can change you. The Name above all names.
(That's really true!)

Astig!
(Astig nga!)

Believe. The songs are more than just words. And if we truly believe - we live like it. Jesus did what He said.
How you view God dictates everything in your life.
(Amen!)

And Jad Gillies also quoted Romans 8:31-39.

What, then, shall we say in response to these things?
If God is for us, who can be against us?
He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen?
It is God who justifies.
Who then is the one who condemns? No one.
Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
As it is written:  “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

If you'll ask me - what do i like the most about #WelcomeZion concert?

Once again, I love that Hillsong United members do not need to mention their names one by one. They don't want to bring glory to themselves but just surrender their all to God Almighty. They are talented, skilled, gifted and famous around the globe yet they are humble before the Lord, passionate, compassionate and really inspiring. Now this is ASTIG!

I hope there'll be more and more Christian bands/artists to rise up and lead big worship events like this to share God's Word and His love for everyone. Oh hey, Saved Festival 2014 will happen this October!

By the way, have you heard about Hillsong Live changing their name to Hillsong Worship? I think, this was a good move since their ministry is all about giving glory to Jesus through their gifts in music. And they will release their new album "No Other Name" next month. Another...a must hear and must have worship album!

Truly, NO OTHER NAME but Jesus!

P.S.
Thank you very much to all ministries who made this event happened and continue to happen. God bless you all for your hard work. (Becca Music, Positively Pinoy, House of Praise, and many more.)

  2. I also went on the first night (and the second night too) and I just bought my tickets there! I came from the office the first night and was 'almost' devasted to know that some of my churchmates were already inside. :'(
then I tried to ask if there were still available tickets, voila! Marami pa! Standing na but who cares, like you've said, di ka na talaga uupo once nag intro na ang first song.
On the second night I invited my other churchmates who were not able to bought tickets nung unang release and went there to be chance passers (:p) ulit, meron ulit! Haha. I was just so glad and blessed and... lahat lahat na. They sung the same line up (yes even the One Way as their last song) pero nakakabless pa din. kahit paulit ulit. Sarap tumalon, sarap pagpawisan, sarap kumanta, sarap mapagod for the Lord. Sorry ang haba na. Ang saya lang kasi talaga ng experience. :D
