SAVED Festival 2011: Update and Online Contest

77 days to go, on November 26, we will finally experience Saved Festival 2011 at Smart Araneta Coliseum! This should be the most awaited event of the year for believers of Christ. Some Christian performers were already named during the launch by Saved Newsmagazine two weeks ago (see previous post / Jesus Freak: SAVED Festival 2011) Citipointe Live, Parachute bandMartin Smith of Delirious? and Quest from Philippines will be there and so are the new artists uncovered yesterday: Jodi King and Starfield - both from Canada; Side Show and Mr. Gary Valenciano from Philippines!

I am more and more excited although I haven’t purchased any ticket yet... anyway, tickets are already available via Ticketnet!

Mr Pure Energy (Gary V) will definitely rock the big dome again but this time will be different and more dynamic since it’s all about glorifying the name of Jesus alone. I am also looking forward to hear Quest and Side Show since they are our kababayan and worship with the 15,000 Christian Filipinos on the amazing night of Nov 26!

I wonder if there will be other artists to be added to Saved Festival’s current list. Anyhow, let’s support this initiative!

Meanwhile, there is also Saved Festival 2011 Facebook contest. View full mechanics here. It’s about uploading the official poster of the event, tagging your friends and asking them to like the photo for you. “MORE LIKES, BIGGER PRIZES!  UPPER BOX A TICKET for 500 LIKES   / VIP TICKET for 1,000 LIKES  and MEET & GREET PASS for 1,500 LIKES”. Not bad, right? Deadline will be on September 30, 2011.

So as we wait for the said event, let’s save up to have budget for tickets ;) and try to know more about the music the performers are making. And ask God to always check our hearts about our reason to be present at Saved Festival 2011; is it to worship His goodness or just to show off that you are the “cool-Christian-who-just-love-music-and-join-concerts”?

Here, also a good illustration of having a wrong heart towards worshiping. It’s natural for a human to love the beats and embrace various styles in music, I believe -- this is a gift; but in front of Jesus, we won’t be able to hide the truth behind our intentions.

As Darlene Zschech of Hillsong Australia also shared in her website: “…I guess as a pastor and a leader of worship, I sense the responsibility, like many others leaders around the globe, to keep speaking it out.. that JESUS must be our goal, our focus, and the One we are living to please and serve as we worship. Not complicated, but simply committed our focus clean and clear. A statement that I read in Bill Johnsons book ' Face to Face with God' said of Moses.. 'Moses preferred the wilderness with God, than to enter the Promised Land without God'. As he said in Exodus 33:15 ' If Your presence does not go with us, do not lead us up from here’.”
