Sa Piling ng Wala: SAPLOT

Usapang paa.

Woohoo I am excited! More and more bands will be joining the said event which will also be announced via Saved Newsmagazine website. So keep posted! Like Saved Newsmagazine at Facebook and follow via their Tumblr account for their HOURLY UPDATE TO SEE WHICH ARTISTS WILL BE AT THE FESTIVAL!

Hmm will Hillsong United be included? I also want Jars of Clay, Barlow Girl, Casting Crowns, Desperation band, Planetshakers (again), Brooke Fraser (since her August 2011 concert in the Philippines was cancelled) and maybe Sixpence None the Richer (eeer I know, they’re already disbanded a long time ago, wishful thinking!). While from our local performers, Kitchie Nadal, Barbie Almalbis and Gary Valenciano of course, Rise Up, Papuri? Hmm I am really not familiar with other local Christian bands, I am sorry. But I know some from who performed at Word of Hope Church for Youth Alive sessions like Poetic Saints (I remember they’re vocalist - Ashley was really funny and a great artist) then Orange band (with Kuya Mike, our tribe’s counselor during our youth camp in 2002).

Well, SAVED FESTIVAL 2011 is going to rally local churches in the Philippines to rise up to the true calling of a SAVED life in Jesus Christ, who is worthy of all glory and honor and praise!

I hope many more Filipino Christians will support this event. Let’s declare God’s victory! May more unbelievers know Jesus and make Him their Savior and priority. Don’t be afraid to be called a Jesus freak!

For sure, Hillsong's One Way will be played there! Share naman your thoughts!

Andrea Corr Live in Manila 2011

I remember how I loved the Irish pop-rock band The Corrs since I was in grade 5. One of the first albums I bought with my Christmas cash gifts was their "Talk on Corners" album. Since then, I followed their newest hits, albums and news! I remember when I was in college; I made a CD packaging project for their “Borrowed Heaven” album, with a zipped opening but sadly, my professor took my plate. Hmp!

The album "HOME" was released exactly 10 years after the release of
their very first album Forgiven, Not Forgotten and brings The Corrs back to their roots.
I was in high school when Andrea, Sharon, Caroline and Jim Corr came to Manila for a two night concert. Of course, I did not have my own money then and I really got frustrated not be able to watch them live.

I still love The Corrs and they also inspired to play some instruments and write songs.

But good news! after 10 years -- Andrea Corr will be back in Manila. On October 16, 2011, Andrea will have a two night solo concert in Smart-Araneta Coliseum and on the 18th at Waterfront Cebu.

Andrea Corr will promote her 2nd solo album “Lifelines” and will perform hits from The Corrs

Spin of Wealth

God wants us to be wealthy but not neglecting our relationship with Him.

[God also has a surprising spin on wealth. From His perspective, you can be “well off” when it comes to worldly treasures and yet be in dire poverty in your soul. Or you can be poor in terms of earthside stuff and be lavishly rich by God’s standards.]

Random Roundup: Hair Stories

I believe, we have more varieties of headbands and headwears today than decades ago. Hair colors too are vibrant and many are having their crowning glory dyed. And as I was surfing for more cute little stuffs, I found these really adorable photos, fashion seen at the Spring Summer (S/S) 2012 trade fair Pitti Bimbo

Brooke Fraser via Facebook August 15 at 1:08pm
My body has conspired against me & my first Asia tour is cancelled. :( Perfect storm of bulging discs in neck straining muscles linked to vocal chords topped off with bronchitis. Rest, meds & chiro in my future. Sorry guys! Have retreated home in defeat. Will make it up to you Asia. xx

Aww a sad news indeed yet Ms Brooke Fraser should really get a rest and think of her health first. Asia loves her and many would  like her more.

Doo Doo Doo... There's something in the water! and the next time she'll go here in Manila, I'll definitely watch her perform!

Brooke Fraser is a Christian music artist from New Zealand. Her hits Something in the Water”, “Betty”, “Deciphering Me” and “Shadowfeet” are my favorites!

She’s also behind the Hillsong’s "Desert Song", "Hosanna", “You’ll come” and "Lead Me to the Cross" and she continues to write songs for Hillsong Church.

Huhuhu I really should have known about this concert earlier. I want to go but Alabang is just so exaggerated-far and Tuesday is not good for me since there will be work on the next day. Oh well, most likely, I’ll just listen to her music on audio CDs.

Anyway, to everyone who would come to Brooke Fraser’s Benefit Concert in Manila, enjoy! I am happy for you huhuhu :P
And let us continue to support more Christian artists ♥ Be blessed!

When You’re in Deep 07.27.11
Today's Word with Joel and Victoria Osteen

The scripture says is Psalm 107:23, “They that go down to the sea and do business in deep waters, they will see the wonders of God.” Friend, you and I were created to do business in deep waters. In other words, we’re not supposed to have little dreams or little plans. We are supposed to have big dreams. We are supposed to go out into the deep things God has for us. But understand, when you’re out there in the deep waters, you can’t touch the ground. You can’t see the shoreline, and at times, it can get a little rocky. You may not always see how things are going to work out. But, the scripture tells us that deep calls to deep. In other words, God is the one who has called you to the deep waters. He is with you, and He knows there are deep things on the inside of you. When you are in those deep waters, you are not alone. God is with you, and He’s causing those deep things inside of you to come forth.

If you feel like you are out in the deep today, if you feel like you are overwhelmed, remember, you are in the right place and God is with you. You will see His wonderful deeds in the deep, and you will fulfill the destiny He has in store for you.

Flood Scare and Marikina River

No storm signal in Metro Manila today but thunderstorms since last night were really frightening. The rising water level in Marikina River was trending online mainly via Twitter, everyone was monitoring, many were scared and prayed.
Too bad, I don’t have a Twitter account. But I am not set to have one, I don’t know why.

Anyway, since I got into the office, I kept refreshing pages for news updates and there I also found a great website for Marikeños where every 100 seconds – records of water level of Marikina River (Sto. Niño and Nangka), Montalban, Angono and Rosario and so is the rainfall in Antipolo, Boso Boso, Nangka and Montalban are updated and I think the graphs are actually accurate! I am pleased that our local government updated our official website and added useful features. That’s why after lunch time, after learning that the alert level was raised to 2, I hurried home.

But thank God that the rain also weakened until it stopped before dusk. As of now, the water level continues to drop but everyone is still unsure whether we’ll have another heavy rainy day tomorrow.

Dear all, please be careful! Bring your umbrellas and extra snacks (why? We’ll never know if we’ll get stuck in traffic jam or stranded somewhere). Just be prepared ;) And according to Dep Ed via Twitter, "Suspension of classes will be based on the 2am bulletin of PAG-ASA. Please tune in to your favorite radio/tv stations for announcements."

VERY USEFUL LINKS, BE UPDATED:
DEP-ED via Twitter
(so kids and parents are able to know if there is any suspension of classes, aww I miss mornings with “WALA KANG PASOK NGAYON” news, sarap!)
